The full Mac experience

Everything Navidrome can do, in a real native Mac app.

Artists. Albums. Recently Played. Newest Albums. Songs. Favorite Songs. Genres. Playlists. Internet Radio. A Directories browser — the only Subsonic client that lets you navigate your library the way it's actually stored on disk. Search with history. And two players: a full-window Standard Player and a compact Mini Player you can pin on top of everything else.

NaviBeat Mac Home view with a Featured Album hero, four Quick Play tiles (Shuffle Mix, Random Album, Favorites, Random Artist), and a Most Played shelf.

01 / Home

Featured album, Quick Play, Most Played shelf.

Home opens on a rotating Featured Album hero with a Play button and an Open Album shortcut, followed by a Quick Play row — Shuffle Mix, Random Album, Favorites, Random Artist — and your Most Played shelf pulled from your server's play counts.

NaviBeat Mac Albums view with a scrolling grid of cover art, New badges on newest additions, sidebar filter, and a persistent player bar at the bottom.

02 / Albums

Grid of every album, New badges, persistent player bar.

Every album on your Navidrome server in a fluid grid. Orange "New" badges on the freshest additions. Hover for Play. The player bar stays pinned at the bottom with cover art, track info, transport, Hi-Res/bit-depth badges, volume, heart, lyrics button, and queue button.

NaviBeat Mac Artists list: searchable table of every artist with album counts, keyboard-navigable, with a Filter field at the top-right.

03 / Artists

Every artist, live-filtered, keyboard-navigable.

Artists as a proper searchable table with album counts. Type to filter. Arrow keys to scroll. ⌘F to jump into the Filter field. Everything the macOS Finder does, NaviBeat does too — because it's a real native app.

NaviBeat Mac Genres view: color-gradient mood cards for Music, Rock, Metal, Hard Rock, Alternative, Dance, Electronic, Reggae, each with a song count.

04 / Genres

Color-coded mood cards for every genre.

Genre browsing reimagined as color-gradient mood cards. Each card shows the genre name and a live song count. Click through to a filtered album view. Every genre tag your server has returned is represented — Rock, Metal, Hard Rock, Alternative, Dance, Electronic, Reggae, and everything else.

NaviBeat Mac Playlists view with a grid of user-made and server-synced playlists, each with a 4-up collage cover and song count.

05 / Playlists

Every playlist from your server, visually grouped.

All your Navidrome playlists surfaced in a clean grid — yours, shared ones, and smart playlists if your server supports them. Auto-generated 4-up collage covers drawn from the first four tracks. Live song counts. Two-way sync with the server: create on the Mac, play on the TV.

NaviBeat Mac Radios view: a list of internet radio stations with stream URLs visible — Beograd 202, Hit FM, Karolina, Naxi 80-e, Naxi Evergreen, Naxi Radio, Naxi Rock, Play, Radio Beograd 1.

06 / Internet Radio

Every radio station, with stream URLs shown.

The Radio tab lists every internet radio station stored in your Navidrome server with its stream URL exposed — useful for debugging, and honest about where the audio comes from. MP3, AAC, OGG, and anything else your server streams. One click to play in the bottom bar.

NaviBeat Mac Directories browser: a Finder-style list navigating into Music / Music Library with artist folders (1200 Micrograms, 1991, 4am Kru, 96 Zeus, Đorđe Balašević, 刘允文) and breadcrumb navigation.

07 / Directories

The only Subsonic client with a real folder browser.

NaviBeat exposes the Directories API most other clients hide. Browse your music library the way it's actually stored on disk — artist folders, year folders, compilation folders, whatever structure you've chosen. Breadcrumbs at the top, arrow keys to navigate, Finder-level familiarity.

NaviBeat Mac Search: full-window search field with Recent Searches (red hot chili peppers, system of a down, red hot chil, red) and a Clear button.

08 / Search

Full-window search with Recent Searches.

Search is its own dedicated tab with a full-width input, Recent Searches cached locally, and a Clear All button. Results unify artists, albums, tracks, and playlists in a single view. Jump back to last week's search with one arrow press.

NaviBeat Mac Recently Played Albums view: grid of recently listened albums including Meteora Deluxe Edition, By the Way Deluxe, O&M (Live), Warm Nights, System of a Down.

09 / Recently Played & Newest

Two shelves Navidrome power users will recognize.

Recently Played Albums uses your server's play-count data to surface what you've actually been listening to. Newest Albums uses the getAlbumList2?type=newest endpoint so fresh imports surface immediately. Both are dedicated sidebar entries — no menu hunting.

Mini Player & craft

A compact player you can pin on top of everything.

NaviBeat's Mini Player is a dedicated always-on-top window with the same feature depth as the main window — time-synced lyrics, Up Next queue, and a sleep timer — in a footprint small enough to share screen space with your code editor, browser, or Logic Pro session.

NaviBeat Mini Player: compact window with edge-to-edge cover art of Linkin Park's Meteora, track title Lying from You, HI-RES and 24/44 badges, scrubbing slider at 0:58 of 1:56, shuffle/prev/play/next/repeat transport, and AirPlay / queue / volume / lyrics buttons.

Mini Player

Edge-to-edge album art. Always on top.

Compact window with cover art filling the header, title/artist/album underneath, Hi-Res and bit-depth/sample-rate badges, and a full transport row. Right-click to open the context menu: Pin Window On Top keeps NaviBeat floating over every other window on your Mac.

  • Pin on top via context menu
  • Hi-Res, bit-depth, and sample-rate badges
  • AirPlay output picker inline
  • Heart to favorite, AutoMix toggle, sleep timer
NaviBeat Mini Player with the Up Next drawer expanded: AutoPlay toggle, Continue Playing list showing Hit the Floor, Easier to Run, Faint, Figure.09, Breaking the Habit, From the Inside — all from Linkin Park's Meteora.

Up Next drawer

The queue, without leaving the Mini Player.

Tap the queue icon and a frosted drawer slides down from the bottom of the Mini Player. AutoPlay toggle at the top. "Continue Playing" list showing the next tracks with thumbnails and album context. Tap any row to jump straight to it. Clear button wipes the queue without stopping playback.

  • Frosted-glass drawer, native AppKit rendering
  • AutoPlay toggle for endless playback
  • Per-row thumbnails and album names
  • Drag to reorder — server syncs on release
NaviBeat Mini Player with the Lyrics drawer expanded: time-synced lyrics for Linkin Park's Lying from You with past lines faded, current line 'Anywhere on my own ‘cause I can see' highlighted in white, upcoming lines dim.

Lyrics drawer

Time-synced lyrics under the Mini Player.

Lyrics button opens a second frosted drawer. When your server has LRC lyrics attached, lines scroll in sync with the audio — current line highlighted, past lines fade, upcoming lines wait. Embedded, sidecar, and Subsonic getLyricsBySongId responses all work. Falls back to plain text when no timings exist.

  • LRC, SRT, and embedded lyrics supported
  • Auto-scroll tied to the track position
  • Large, readable Fraunces-family typography
  • Gracefully hides when no lyrics exist
NaviBeat Mini Player right-click context menu open: Pin Window On Top, Show Album, Show Artist, AutoMix Off, and a Sleep Timer submenu with 5, 10, 15, 30, 45 minutes, 1, 2, 4 hours options.

AutoMix & Sleep Timer

Endless playback, graceful shutdown.

Right-click the Mini Player for Pin Window On Top, Show Album, Show Artist, AutoMix toggle, and the Sleep Timer submenu — 5 minutes through 4 hours. AutoMix keeps the queue flowing with related tracks so music never just stops mid-session. Sleep Timer fades audio gently at zero; the window doesn't blink out.

  • AutoMix pulls similar tracks from your library
  • Sleep Timer: 5/10/15/30/45 min, 1/2/4 hours
  • Audio fade, not hard cut, at timer expiry
  • Pin On Top persists across window reopen

Standard Player

Lyrics panel and queue panel, side-by-side with the library.

NaviBeat Mac Standard Player with the lyrics panel docked to the right side showing time-synced lyrics for By the Way by Red Hot Chili Peppers, while the main library browser stays visible.

Lyrics panel

Keep browsing. Lyrics scroll on the side.

The Standard Player mounts the lyrics panel on the right edge of the window so you can keep browsing Albums, Playlists, or Directories while the lyrics scroll. Toggle it on and off with a single button in the player bar.

NaviBeat Mac Standard Player with the Up Next queue panel docked to the right side listing upcoming tracks from By the Way by Red Hot Chili Peppers while the main library browser stays visible.

Up Next panel

Queue management without losing your place.

Same edge, same behavior: the Up Next queue opens in a right-side panel with draggable reordering. Jump to any track, remove an item, or clear the whole queue — all without leaving whatever view you were in.
