Home opens on a rotating Featured Album hero with a Play button and an Open Album shortcut, followed by a Quick Play row — Shuffle Mix, Random Album, Favorites, Random Artist — and your Most Played shelf pulled from your server's play counts.
02 / Albums
Every album on your Navidrome server in a fluid grid. Orange "New" badges on the freshest additions. Hover for Play. The player bar stays pinned at the bottom with cover art, track info, transport, Hi-Res/bit-depth badges, volume, heart, lyrics button, and queue button.
03 / Artists
Artists as a proper searchable table with album counts. Type to filter. Arrow keys to scroll. ⌘F to jump into the Filter field. Everything the macOS Finder does, NaviBeat does too — because it's a real native app.
04 / Genres
Genre browsing reimagined as color-gradient mood cards. Each card shows the genre name and a live song count. Click through to a filtered album view. Every genre tag your server has returned is represented — Rock, Metal, Hard Rock, Alternative, Dance, Electronic, Reggae, and everything else.
05 / Playlists
All your Navidrome playlists surfaced in a clean grid — yours, shared ones, and smart playlists if your server supports them. Auto-generated 4-up collage covers drawn from the first four tracks. Live song counts. Two-way sync with the server: create on the Mac, play on the TV.
06 / Internet Radio
The Radio tab lists every internet radio station stored in your Navidrome server with its stream URL exposed — useful for debugging, and honest about where the audio comes from. MP3, AAC, OGG, and anything else your server streams. One click to play in the bottom bar.
07 / Directories
NaviBeat exposes the Directories API most other clients hide. Browse your music library the way it's actually stored on disk — artist folders, year folders, compilation folders, whatever structure you've chosen. Breadcrumbs at the top, arrow keys to navigate, Finder-level familiarity.

Search is its own dedicated tab with a full-width input, Recent Searches cached locally, and a Clear All button. Results unify artists, albums, tracks, and playlists in a single view. Jump back to last week's search with one arrow press.

Recently Played Albums uses your server's play-count data to surface what you've actually been listening to. Newest Albums uses the getAlbumList2?type=newest endpoint so fresh imports surface immediately. Both are dedicated sidebar entries — no menu hunting.

NaviBeat's Mini Player is a dedicated always-on-top window with the same feature depth as the main window — time-synced lyrics, Up Next queue, and a sleep timer — in a footprint small enough to share screen space with your code editor, browser, or Logic Pro session.
Mini Player
Compact window with cover art filling the header, title/artist/album underneath, Hi-Res and bit-depth/sample-rate badges, and a full transport row. Right-click to open the context menu: Pin Window On Top keeps NaviBeat floating over every other window on your Mac.
Up Next drawer
Tap the queue icon and a frosted drawer slides down from the bottom of the Mini Player. AutoPlay toggle at the top. "Continue Playing" list showing the next tracks with thumbnails and album context. Tap any row to jump straight to it. Clear button wipes the queue without stopping playback.
Lyrics drawer
Lyrics button opens a second frosted drawer. When your server has LRC lyrics attached, lines scroll in sync with the audio — current line highlighted, past lines fade, upcoming lines wait. Embedded, sidecar, and Subsonic getLyricsBySongId responses all work. Falls back to plain text when no timings exist.
AutoMix & Sleep Timer
Right-click the Mini Player for Pin Window On Top, Show Album, Show Artist, AutoMix toggle, and the Sleep Timer submenu — 5 minutes through 4 hours. AutoMix keeps the queue flowing with related tracks so music never just stops mid-session. Sleep Timer fades audio gently at zero; the window doesn't blink out.
Standard Player
Lyrics panel
The Standard Player mounts the lyrics panel on the right edge of the window so you can keep browsing Albums, Playlists, or Directories while the lyrics scroll. Toggle it on and off with a single button in the player bar.
Up Next panel
Same edge, same behavior: the Up Next queue opens in a right-side panel with draggable reordering. Jump to any track, remove an item, or clear the whole queue — all without leaving whatever view you were in.
